Istanbul is preparing to host the 4th Türkiye-Africa Business and Economic Forum on Oct. 12-13, a significant event that aims to strengthen economic partnerships between Turkey and African nations.
Organized by the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) in collaboration with the Trade Ministry and the African Union, the forum is expected to attract around 3,000 participants.
The central theme of the forum, “Addressing Challenges, Unlocking Opportunities: Building Stronger Türkiye-Africa Economic Partnerships,” will focus on key sectors including energy, infrastructure, agriculture, agribusiness, healthcare, tourism, and digital marketing.

Additionally, the forum will delve into the implications of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) on Türkiye-Africa trade, with insights from Wamkele Mene, the secretary general of AfCFTA.
Trade between Türkiye and Africa has seen a remarkable surge, growing from $1.35 billion in 2003 to $40.7 billion in 2022. This figure is anticipated to reach $50 billion by the close of 2023. (AA)
