Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport Now Offers Unlimited Free Wi-Fi

Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport now offers unlimited free Wi-Fi access for all passengers, eliminating the previous one-hour limit. The change comes as welcome news for travelers who spend long hours waiting at the airport and need uninterrupted internet service.

The update was announced by ISG, the airport’s operating company, through its official social media account. According to the announcement, the Wi-Fi service is no longer restricted by time, making the digital experience at the airport more convenient and enjoyable. The statement encouraged travelers to make their waiting time more pleasant with this new amenity.

Before the change, passengers at Sabiha Gökçen were allowed one hour of free internet access. Beyond that, users needed to purchase a plan or disconnect. This limitation has now been removed entirely, allowing passengers to browse, stream, work, or communicate online for as long as they like while at the terminal.

This move reflects a broader shift in airport services around the world, where more emphasis is being placed on enhancing the passenger experience. As air travel rebounds and digital connectivity becomes increasingly essential, unlimited Wi-Fi access is becoming a key part of modern airport infrastructure.

Sabiha Gökçen Airport, located on the Asian side of Istanbul, is one of the busiest airports in Turkey. It serves millions of domestic and international travelers each year and has been growing steadily in both capacity and services. Offering unlimited free Wi-Fi aligns with its efforts to become a more traveler-friendly hub.

Istanbul Airport (IGA), the city’s main international hub on the European side, also introduced free Wi-Fi in November 2024. Passengers can access unlimited internet throughout the terminal, including through TK WiFi—a service provided by Turkish Airlines that allows guests to connect easily and browse without limits while waiting for their flights.

Passengers passing through either of Istanbul’s major airports can now connect their devices to the Wi-Fi network without worrying about running out of time. Whether travelers need to attend a virtual meeting, stream entertainment, or simply stay connected with family and friends, they’ll be able to do so with ease and no additional cost.

The change is expected to benefit not only tourists but also business travelers and airline staff who rely heavily on digital access. Free and unlimited Wi-Fi can make a major difference in comfort and productivity, especially during delays or long layovers.

As travelers continue to seek stress-free airport experiences, amenities like this play a major role in shaping positive perceptions. With this simple but impactful upgrade, Sabiha Gökçen joins the ranks of international airports that prioritize passenger satisfaction through technology and service improvements.
