Seychelles Tourism will boost with new Turkish Airlines’ Istanbul – Seychelles service

Turkey’s national carrier is reported to start a direct flight from its Istanbul hub to Seychelles, a group of 115 islands in the western Indian Ocean.

The Indian Ocean News and ile-en-ile Magazine have published that on October 31, Turkish Airlines will be departing Istanbul in Turkey at 1:00 am and will land in Seychelles at 10:55 am.

Flights will operate three times a week, operated by an A330.

The launch of Turkish Airlines flights is expected to increase the number of tourist arrivals to Seychelles. The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) recently announced increase in visitor arrival for the first quarter of 2016.

The Seychelles’ National Bureau of Statistics January to March report shows an increase of 11 percent in tourism arrivals compared to the same period a year ago. Over 73,000 tourists visited Seychelles, a group of 115 islands in the western Indian Ocean, between January and March, compared to nearly 66, 000 over the same period in 2015.

The introduction of Air Seychelles’ direct flights to Paris and Beijing will also help to increase the number of visitor arrivals when the weather gets colder in those cities.
