Turkiye’s state-run aid agency held a training program for tourism workers in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku.
The training program, titled Current Approaches in Tourism Education Training, was organized by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in cooperation with the Azerbaijan State Tourism Agency and Turkiye’s Antalya Falez Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School.
Speaking at the event, Turkiye’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Cahit Bagci said that with its experienced public and private sectors, his country is ready for cooperation in Azerbaijan.
He noted that TIKA has carried out important and successful projects in the country.
TIKA’s Baku Coordinator Fatih Yilmaz also said that the training program will contribute to vocational tourism education and the development of human resources in the tourism sector in Azerbaijan.
Touching upon Azerbaijan’s high tourism potential, Yilmaz noted that it is important to train the local and qualified workforce to make tourism a sector that contributes more to the country’s economy.
The second stage of the training program will be held in Turkiye’s resort city Antalya on March 14-25.
