On early Monday morning, two DHKP-C terrorists opened fire on the police team in front of the U.S. Consulate building in Istanbul. One of the suspect, a woman, was wounded during a police operation in a building near the consulate, where she was hidden and later caught, according to police.
No casualties have been reported.
The consulate has been closed to public until further notice, said a written statement released on the consulate’s twitter account.
Police have conducted a large-scale operation to find the second terrorist.
The attack came shortly after an overnight bomb attack at a police station in Istanbul’s Sultanbeyli district injured 10 people, including seven police officers, and caused a fire that collapsed part of the three-story building.
