Journalists asked questions to the head of the Secretariat of Tourism of Yucatán, Michelle Fridman Hirsch on the last day of Tianguis, the most important event for the Mexican Tourism Industry.
Ms. Hirsch, who said 2019 was the best year forever, talked about topics including sustainability, travel statistics, hospitality, and smart travel in Yucatán.
“Even before the pandemic, we were convinced that sustainability is the only way to develop tourism. Yucatan’s sustainability is the main priority. We work with the minister of sustainable development in Yucatán, minister joins us for all of our decisions” said Hirsch.
Yucatan is a rich destination because of its history and diversity, nature and we want to keep it with us.
Sustainability for us has to do with preserving that, it has to do with making better and more inclusive tourism, it has to do with making more responsible and long-term tourism. Listen audio file below for more details.
