In celebration of the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc’s 150th anniversary, paying tribute to its exquisite natural surroundings, the ‘Grand Dame’ hotel has collaborated with Christian Dior on a signature Eden-Roc fragrance.
It is the fusion of two emblems of French art de vivre: the inimitable Parisian elegance of Christian Dior, and the sun-bathed luxury of this iconic palace, a member of the Oetker Collection portfolio of masterpiece hotels.
A ‘declaration of love to perfume,’ Dior Perfumer-Creator, François Demachy composed the Eden-Roc perfume by imagining himself arriving at the hotel by sea, taking in the salt, sun, pale rocks and lush vegetation. The final salty, woody accord is a scented reflection of the hotel’s exceptional location on the Cap d’Antibes, that tells a quintessentially Mediterranean story of marine air, flowers, citrus fruits, aromatic scents and maritime pine trees.
The Eden-Roc fragrance is a scent imbued with the Mediterranean breeze, intended to evoke the delights of the French Riviera with a composition that is both mineral and green, and that tells its story as though revealing a landscape, or playing the notes of a melody. The fragrance opens with a powerfully invigorating scent of the sea, with a tangy, salty top note leading with strength. Then, aromas reminiscent of tanning oil and skin warmed by the sun develop, thanks to a jasmine note heightened with an instantly recognisable touch of coconut.
The fragrance is named simply ‘Eden-Roc,’ evoking the magic of a place where the sea, sun and nature celebrate their union. Three colours representative of the hotel can also be identified: blue for the sea, yellow for the sun, and green for the pine trees. To complete the pleasure of perfume, inspired by the peace and quiet of this exceptional place, Demachy has also created an Eden-Roc candle, liquid soap and body cream. Used for the bath or simply to relax, each of these creations is the fragrant interpretation of the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc’s corner of paradise.
