Germany’s best amateur golfers hail from Ingolstadt and Mannheim. They were determined in the German finale of the 25th Audi quattro Cup held at the Golfresort Berlin Scharmützelsee from August 31 to September 4. The two winning teams prevailed against a total of 260 finalists. They will travel to the world finale in Mexico at the end of November.

Close to 13,000 golfers throughout Germany participated in the Audi quattro Cup at the invitation of Audi partners since the beginning of May. 260 of them qualified for the finale in Berlin. In the thrilling final round, Elmar Zieglmeier and Jürgen Nüßler (Ingolstadt GC), Michael Würth and Johannes Ruland (GC Mannheim-Viernheim) prevailed as the winning duos. The trophies at Scharmützelsee were presented by Audi DTM driver Nico Müller.

“With its large number of participants, the Audi quattro Cup still numbers among the world’s most popular tournament series even after a quarter of a century,” says Norbert Schrofner, Head of Event and Sports Marketing at AUDI AG. “I congratulate the winners of our anniversary season and wish them good luck for the world finale in Mexico.” There, the two winning teams will be meeting with the best amateur golfers from around the world from November 29 to December 2. They will be playing for overall victory in the Audi quattro Cup at the Cabo del Sol Ocean Course in the Mexican state of Baja California.

The days of the finale were not only centered on the little white ball. Together with professional sailors of the Audi Sailing Experience, the golfers, their accompanying guests and members of the media witnessed an Audi Sailing Experience with sport boats on Lake Scharmützelsee.

On the outskirts of Berlin, Audi showcased two new cars from the model range, the Audi Q7 and the Audi R8 V10 plus. Like the year before, the number ‘13’ played a special role, as Audi was going to reward a hole-in-one at Hole 13 with an Audi TTS Roadster. However, none of the participants managed this perfect shot.
