Golf Meets Entertainment: Topgolf Opens in Two Cities on Dec. 15

Topgolf, a leader in modern golf entertainment, has announced the simultaneous grand opening of two new venues on Friday, Dec. 15, marking a significant expansion in both Lafayette and Pompano Beach. These openings showcase Topgolf’s commitment to providing unique golf experiences across the United States, catering to both seasoned players and newcomers to the sport.

Lafayette and Pompano Beach Welcome Topgolf

Topgolf Lafayette is set to open its doors in the Ambassador Town Center, just 15 minutes from downtown Lafayette, at 301 Meadow Farm Road. Topgolf Lafayette will feature 60 outdoor climate-controlled hitting bays across two levels, offering a unique blend of golf, entertainment, and dining experiences. This marks Louisiana’s second Topgolf venue, following Baton Rouge, with another planned in New Orleans by early 2025.

With the exciting addition of a Topgolf venue by early 2025 and the city gearing up to host the Super Bowl in February of the same year, New Orleans is poised to offer an even more captivating travel experience. Complementing these attractions, a series of new hotel openings in New Orleans is set to further enrich the city’s accommodation landscape, promising visitors a diverse and luxurious stay amidst the vibrant culture and festivities of New Orleans.

Topgolf Pompano Beach will be located off I-95 at 400 Lucky Lane, serving as an anchor of The Pomp – a 223-acre mixed-use development project. This venue, with its 102 outdoor climate-controlled hitting bays spanning three levels, promises to be a major attraction in South Florida. The Pomp, once complete, will bring together entertainment, retail, dining, and more, making Topgolf Pompano Beach a key player in the region’s entertainment landscape.

The Topgolf Experience

Both venues offer an immersive golf experience with Topgolf’s signature games, like Angry Birds, and Toptracer technology, which traces each golf ball’s flight path and other metrics. Beyond golf, Topgolf emphasizes its “not golf” experience, including full-service restaurants, rooftop terraces, HDTVs, and family-friendly programming. Private event rooms and outdoor areas are also available for various gatherings.

Lafayette Mayor-President Josh Guillory praised Topgolf’s Lafayette opening as a boost to the community, enhancing the quality of life and fostering economic growth. Mandi Mitchell, President and CEO of the Lafayette Economic Development Authority (LEDA), echoed these sentiments, emphasizing Topgolf’s role in attracting families and young professionals to the region.

In Pompano Beach, Mayor Rex Hardin expressed excitement about the new Topgolf venue, seeing it as a validation of the city’s status as a top South Florida destination. City Manager Greg Harrison, who recommended the site for Topgolf back in 2015, celebrated the realization of this vision.

Expanding the Love for Golf

Topgolf’s Chief Operating and People Officer Gen Gray highlighted the company’s excitement for both locations. In Lafayette, the focus is on bringing more play to Louisiana, inviting the community to experience the joy of golf in a fun, no-pressure environment. In Pompano Beach, Topgolf’s presence signifies an honor to be part of the city’s vibrant entertainment landscape, especially as an anchor for The Pomp.

These openings reflect Topgolf’s 96th and 97th outdoor venues globally and its continued growth in the U.S. With approximately 200 Playmakers in Lafayette and 400 in Pompano Beach, Topgolf is not only a place for golf enthusiasts but also a significant employer in both communities.

The simultaneous launch of these venues on Dec. 15 marks a notable expansion for Topgolf, bringing modern golf entertainment to more people and contributing to the economic and cultural vibrancy of Lafayette and Pompano Beach.
