The U.S. Department of State has issued a travel advisory urging its citizens to avoid traveling to Lebanon. The announcement was shared on a social media platform associated with the U.S. Embassy in Beirut.
In the statement, not only were American citizens advised against traveling to Lebanon, but those already in the country were also recommended to make necessary arrangements to depart. Furthermore, U.S. nationals choosing to remain in Lebanon were advised to have their emergency plans in place.
The advisory comes in the wake of clashes that began on October 8 between Hezbollah and the Israeli military. The confrontations have so far resulted in the death of 12 Hezbollah members and 2 Israeli soldiers. (AA)
