Vietnam Tourist Arrivals Reach 8.5 million in 2019

Vietnam welcomed a growing number of international travelers in the first half of 2019. According to the arrivals data, total international tourists visiting the South Asian country counted 8.48 million; reflecting a 7.5% increase compared to the same period last year.

Vietnam welcomed a total of 1.18 million tourists in June 2019 that reflects a slight increase of 0.2% over the same period last year.

In the first six months of 2019, most of source markets increased over the same period last year, such as: Thailand (+45.4%); Taiwan (+27.0%); Indonesia (+21.9%); South Korea (+21.3%); Philippines (+20.4%); Japan (+12.8%); Malaysia (+12.6%); Italy (+10.7%); Denmark (+9.5%) and Norway (+8.5%); USA (+6.3%); Africa (+8.9%).

In this period, the number of domestic trippers estimated 45.5 million. Total tourism receipt reached VND 338,200 billion (US$14.85 billion), representing an increase of 8.4% over the same period of 2018.
