Hyatt Hotels’ chairman billionaire Thomas Pritzker, a cousin of Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, has been implicated in the Jeffrey Epstein sex scandal.
A New York judge’s decision to unseal and unredact hundreds of pages of documents from Virginia Giuffre’s defamation lawsuit against Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s close associate, has brought to light the names of several prominent figures.
Pritzker’s name appears alongside over 100 individuals, including Prince Andrew and hedge fund billionaire Glenn Dubin, in the list of men whom Jeffrey Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre claimed to have had sexual encounters with, as per the documents released to the public on Wednesday.
In a 2016 legal deposition, Giuffre, one of Epstein’s most vocal victims, was asked about her encounters with Pritzker. She responded affirmatively to having had sex with him, though the context of this encounter remains unclear, with no direct indication of Epstein or Maxwell’s involvement in this specific instance. However, Giuffre’s testimony also refers to an encounter with the “owner of a large hotel chain” in France, arranged by Maxwell, though Pritzker is not explicitly named in this part of the deposition.
The allegations against Pritzker have not led to any charges in connection with the Epstein case. In a statement to The Messenger, a spokesperson for Pritzker – who has not been charged in connection with the Epstein case – denied Giuffre’s claims.
The unsealing of these documents is part of a broader revelation of names connected to Epstein and Maxwell, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022 for her role in the Epstein sex-trafficking conspiracy. The ongoing release of information is expected to reveal more names and details in the coming days.
The Epstein case has been a subject of global interest and controversy, particularly due to Epstein’s connections with high-profile individuals, including politicians, royalty, and business leaders. The unsealed documents include mentions of former Presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, though they are not accused of any wrongdoing. Britain’s Prince Andrew, who settled a lawsuit with Giuffre in 2022, is also mentioned in the documents.
Giuffre has been a prominent figure in the case against Epstein and Maxwell, consistently speaking out against the abuse she suffered and the high-profile individuals she was trafficked to. Her 2020 interview with CBS’s Gayle King highlighted the potential involvement of “very well-known names” in the scandal, including government officials and royalty.
The Epstein documents’ unsealing process is ongoing, with more revelations expected.
