Holland America Line Sets New Sales Record Amid Thriving Cruise Industry

Holland America Line has once again made headlines by setting a new single-day sales record on January 16, 2024.

This remarkable achievement surpasses its previous record set on July 11, 2023, by an impressive 18%, marking the largest sales day in the company’s 150-year history. This milestone is a testament to Holland America Line’s enduring appeal and innovative approach in a competitive market.

The record-breaking bookings on January 16 are part of a larger trend for Holland America Line, which also experienced its largest-ever bookings week during the same period. This surge in sales is attributed to the ongoing “wave” season, a peak booking period for cruises between January and March. Notably, over one-third of the week’s reservations were for the cruise line’s acclaimed Alaska cruises, reflecting the growing interest in unique and immersive travel experiences.

Gus Antorcha, president of Holland America Line, expressed his enthusiasm about the company’s recent success. “Stacking records on top of records indicates the ongoing strength and appeal of our brand. Our guests are enjoying the time of their lives exploring the world with us,” he said. Antorcha highlighted the company’s leading position in offering visits to Alaska’s glaciers and a variety of wildlife-viewing opportunities, which have clearly resonated with travelers.

The surge in bookings aligns with Holland America Line’s “Time of Your Life” sale, running through February 29, 2024. This promotion offers enticing incentives for guests booking select cruises from summer 2024 to spring 2025. Benefits include free stateroom upgrades, fare discounts, complimentary fares for children, and reduced deposits. Additionally, guests booking by January 31, 2024, can receive up to $500 per stateroom in onboard credit. These incentives are in addition to the usual perks of shore excursions, beverages, specialty dining, and Wi-Fi included with the “Have It All” premium cruise package.

Holland America Line’s success is also buoyed by its reputation as a leader in Alaska cruises, with the most Glacier Bay visits in the industry. The company’s Alaska Up Close program offers guests deep immersion in local culture through authentic onboard programming, activities, and award-winning shore excursions.

Furthermore, Holland America Line recently introduced its Legendary Voyages, a new category of longer cruises with rich itineraries designed to allow guests to deeply explore each destination. Looking ahead to 2025, the cruise line plans to operate simultaneous voyages lasting over 120 days, including the 2025 Grand Voyage: Pole-to-Pole and the 2025 Grand World Voyage, promising even more extraordinary travel experiences for its guests.
