British Airways Passengers Board Plane To Fly To Dusseldorf But Mistakenly Lands in Edinburgh

A British Airways flight to Dusseldorf in Germany has landed in Edinburgh by mistake.

British Airways flight BA3271 is set off from London City airport at 7.47am today and was supposed to land Dusseldorf, Germany but it ended up in Edinburgh, Scotland. The passengers only realized the error when the plane landed and the “welcome to Edinburgh” announcement was made.

The mistake happened after the paperwork for the journey was submitted incorrectly.

German firm WDL Aviation ran the flight for BA as part of a leasing deal.

“We have apologized to customers for this interruption to their journey and will be contacting them all individually,” BA said in a statement.

After the unplanned stop in Scotland, the plane refueled and set off from Edinburgh at 10.30am on its second attempt to reach Düsseldorf.
