Espresso Bar Opens at Cairns Airport

HMSHost Australia opened the Espresso Bar, following on from the latest store openings of Oporto and Hungry Jacks.

As part of the overall Cairns Airport development, the Espresso Bar is both promoting and curating Cairns through coffee and art and introduces a localized coffee experience to the growing number of international customers traveling through the domestic terminal.

The Espresso Bar serves a wide range of hot and cold beverages using locally roasted coffee beans. HMSHost is partnering with White Whale Coffee Roasters, one of the Cairns renowned specialty coffee roasters, to insure HMSHost offers an exceptional coffee brew. The food menu includes an array of bakery, pastries, salads and an assortment of quality bread-based products, all available to eat in or take away.

A special mural was produced by a local indigenous artist, India Collins. The mural depicts Cairns greatest natural attraction, the Great Barrier Reef and also reflects the whale migration period.

Regional Managing Director for HMSHost Asia Pacific, David Mackay, said the group’s latest offering in the Domestic Terminal, perfectly complemented the food and beverage portfolio already on offer.

“We are pleased to be offering another coffee experience for travelers through Cairns Airport. The coffee from local roasters White Whale is an outstanding product that is well known and enjoyed across the region.”

Cairns Airport Chief Executive Officer Norris Carter said he was delighted with the progress on the Domestic Terminal upgrade this year. “We have worked hard to represent the depth of the region’s food scene and that’s being represented with each new outlet that opens in the terminal.”
