France has announced strict new rules for all travelers – vaccinated or not – arriving in France from non-EU countries due to the new Omicron variant.
The new rules come into force at 00.01am on Saturday, December 4th and the testing requirements apply to everyone aged 12 or older – including those who have French citizenship or permanent residency in France.
Until this Saturday, UK and other non-EU travelers may continue to enter France with proof of vaccination and a sworn declaration form.
Arrivals from the Schengen zone will only need to present a negative test if they are not fully vaccinated. This test will need to be taken 24 hours before travel.
All travelers – vaccinated or not – will require a negative PCR Covid test in order to enter France from any country outside the EU or Schengen zone. Antigen tests and home tests are not accepted.
