Mayor of London’s annual St Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival celebration took place on Sunday, March 12 with thousands of revelers watching the parade wend its way from Hyde Park Corner to Whitehall, via St James’s Street, Pall Mall, and Cockspur Street.

Saint Patrick’s Day is one of the Ireland’s national days.

Associations, sports clubs and orchestras from various regions of United Kingdom and Ireland, citizens of other countries living in London attended the Saint Patrick’s Day celebrations with their traditional costumes, make-up and music.

St. Patrick’s Day is a cultural and religious holiday celebrated on the 17th of March in honor of the patron saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick. The day is marked by the attendance of church services, the wearing of green clothing and shamrocks, the eating of Irish food, and the drinking of Irish beer or whiskey.

St. Patrick’s Day is a public holiday in Ireland and Northern Ireland, as well as in Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada.
