The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) recently held a series of seminars in Turkey targeting Turkish travel professionals.
The seminars, held in Ankara, İzmir, and Istanbul between September 25 and 28, 2023, highlighted JNTO’s ongoing commitment to promoting Japan as a leading travel destination in the Turkish market.
The seminars were attended by distinguished guests who delivered opening remarks. Japanese Ambassador to Turkey Takahiko Katsumata and Japanese Consul General in Istanbul Kenichi Kasahara honored the event with their esteemed speeches. In addition, Turkey Travel Agencies Association Vice President Davut Günaydın extended his warm greetings to the guests in Istanbul.
During the seminars, JNTO presented sample itineraries centered on various regions of Japan. These itineraries showcased Japan’s rich traditional culture, diverse culinary offerings, and exciting activities. The presentation highlighted Japan’s wide range of captivating tourist destinations, ranging from vibrant cities on the Golden Route, such as Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, to diverse and culturally rich regions spread throughout Japan.
JNTO Dubai Office Director Daisuke Kobayashi expressed his excitement as follows:
“We are delighted to have the opportunity to promote Japan’s tourism appeal directly to Turkish travel agencies. In 2023, we have witnessed a significant increase in the number of Turkish visitors to Japan, thanks to the increasing flight options offered by Turkish Airlines. In the January-June 2023 period, the number of Turkish citizens visiting Japan reached 14,159, up 22.4% from the same period in 2019.
As we approach the important milestone of the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Turkey next year, we are excited to further increase the number of visitors to Japan.”
JNTO remains committed to its mission of promoting Japan in the Turkish market. The organization will continue to collaborate with local stakeholders to strengthen tourism ties between the two countries.
