Tivoli Hotels & Resorts has opened Tivoli Palazzo 1880 Lecce Hotel, marking the brand’s arrival in Puglia and its fourth property in Italy.
The hotel occupies a meticulously renovated historic palazzo in Lecce’s city centre, featuring 48 rooms and suites, signature dining, a rooftop experience and a dedicated wellness area.
The hotel sits on Via Imperatore Augusto, between Piazza Sant’Oronzo and Piazzetta Santa Chiara, placing guests within easy reach of Lecce’s Baroque architecture and landmarks including the Roman Amphitheatre, the Basilica di Santa Croce and Lecce Cathedral.
Following a comprehensive renovation, Tivoli Palazzo 1880 Lecce Hotel opens as a new five star reference in one of Italy’s most sought after and fast growing destinations. Lecce, often referred to as the “Florence of the South,” is known for its golden sandstone facades, known as Pietra Leccese, and ornate Baroque detailing, offering a base for exploring Salento and the wider Puglia region and its UNESCO Heritage Sites.
The building has deep local roots, first serving as a 15th century inn before its transformation into a noble hotel that opened in 1880. Today the property comprises 48 rooms, including 13 suites, ranging from Superior and Deluxe categories to Premium rooms with balconies or views. The suite offering includes Junior Suites, Suites with jacuzzi or private spa, and a Presidential Suite with a private outdoor terrace overlooking the Roman Amphitheatre.
Gastronomy is presented across three venues: Godot Restaurant, the Rooftop Terrace & Lounge Bar and the Lobby Bar. The name Godot recalls Samuel Beckett’s celebrated work, evoking anticipation and desire, and the restaurant serves Mediterranean menus highlighting artisan pastas, fresh seafood and seasonal local produce paired with Italian wines.
The Rooftop Terrace & Lounge Bar offers sweeping views towards the city’s cathedral bell tower and accommodates up to 100 guests standing or 40 seated, with opening hours from 5.00 pm to 11.00 pm.
The wellness area includes two treatment rooms, an indoor heated salt water pool, a steam room and sauna, and a relaxation lounge with a tisaneria, or herbal tea corner. A fully equipped gym offers direct access to the rooftop area, creating an indoor to outdoor fitness experience.
Guests also have privileged access to a selection of beach clubs on both the Adriatic and Ionian coastlines, along with an exclusive agreement for a swimming pool located around 4 km from the hotel, including reserved areas and dedicated service.
Open all year round, the hotel supports meetings and events in Lecce with two intimate event spaces suited to small corporate gatherings, private celebrations and exclusive buyouts, accommodating up to approximately 40 guests depending on the set-up.
The hotel’s central address provides convenient access to Lecce’s main cultural attractions and to the Salento peninsula’s coastline. The nearest beaches are approximately 15 to 20 minutes away by car, including San Cataldo Beach, Torre dell’Orso, Porto Cesareo and Gallipoli. Lecce train station is around 1 km from the hotel, Brindisi Papola Casale Airport is reachable in approximately 30 to 35 minutes by car, and Bari Karol Wojtyla International Airport is about a 2 hour drive.
With a history dating back to 1933 in Lisbon, Portugal, Tivoli Hotels & Resorts is known for its cultural heritage and connection to each destination. Tivoli Palazzo 1880 Lecce Hotel joins the brand’s expanding Italian portfolio, alongside Tivoli Portopiccolo Sistiana Wellness Resort & Spa, Tivoli Palazzo Gaddi Firenze and Tivoli President Milano Hotel, bringing heritage led luxury to Southern Italy.
