The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced a collaboration with HBO for the production of the Emmy-winning anthology series, “The White Lotus” Season 3, in Thailand.
This partnership marks a notable achievement for Thailand’s film tourism, as the country becomes the primary filming location for the acclaimed series. Scheduled to commence in February, the production will span across Bangkok, Phuket, and Ko Samui, showcasing Thailand’s diverse and picturesque landscapes.
Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, expressed her pride in Thailand being chosen as the backdrop for the upcoming season. “Thailand’s exotic natural beauty, rich historical sites, and diverse landscapes make it an ideal setting to portray our fascinating culture, fantastic cuisine, top-notch wellness, luxury offerings, and, most importantly, our people and Thai hospitality,” she said. Thailand’s selection as a filming location for “The White Lotus” Season 3 is a testament to its status as one of the world’s favorite filming destinations.
The cast for the third season includes stars Leslie Bibb, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, and Natasha Rothwell, along with Thai actors Dom Hetrakul and Tayme Thapthimthong. This blend of international and local talent underscores the global appeal of the series and the universal allure of Thailand as a filming location.

“The White Lotus,” created by Mike White, who also serves as executive producer and director, has been a critical and commercial success since its debut in 2021. The first season, set in Hawaii, received 20 Emmy nominations and won 10, including Best Limited or Anthology Series. The second season, set in Sicily and premiered in December 2022, has been nominated for 23 Emmys, including Best Drama Series. The series is known for its sharp social commentary, dark humor, and captivating storytelling, all set against luxurious resort backdrops.
