Easter is just around the corner, and it’s clear where the sun-seekers are heading this holiday.
The Mediterranean’s spring sun, Egypt, the Turkish Riviera, and the Canary Islands are the hotspots.
The Easter holiday period remains a favorite travel time, with this year being no exception.
According to the German Travel Association (DRV), the trend is leaning towards package flights and cruises.
Many have snapped up the early bird deals offered by tour operators, securing their Easter vacations well in advance.
Data from January already showed that March would be the busiest and fastest-growing month for travel this season, which runs from November 1, 2023, to April 31, 2024. This positive booking trend continued through February.
The most popular destinations for these package holidays include Hurghada, Antalya, Fuerteventura, and several others. This ranking comes from Travel Data + Analytics (TDA) for the DRV, using booking data from travel agencies and online portals. Interestingly, cruises are also seeing a surge in popularity for the Easter period.
For those yet to book, there’s still hope. Around 9,000 travel agencies and numerous online portals have last-minute offers. Flexibility is key here, as many top destinations are already filling up. Travel agencies can provide a wide range of options and personalized advice to help find the perfect trip within your budget.
It’s worth noting that the price for the same trip remains consistent across all booking platforms, whether online, in-person at a travel agency, or at the airport.
