Ryanair Engine Fire Brindisi Airport Evacuation

Ryanair Plane Evacuated After Engine Fire in Italy

Passengers on a Ryanair plane at Brindisi Airport in southern Italy were evacuated on Thursday morning following a fire in the aircraft’s right engine.

The incident occurred as the plane was preparing for takeoff to its destination, Turin, a city in northern Italy.

The fire was detected just as the aircraft was on the runway, leading to an immediate order for passengers and crew to evacuate using the emergency ramps. A total of 184 passengers were safely evacuated, with no reported injuries. Local media stated that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Following the evacuation, the airport was temporarily closed to ensure safety procedures were carried out, but it has since resumed normal operations. The quick response of the crew and emergency services ensured the safety of all onboard, minimizing disruption and preventing any casualties.

This incident marks the second time this week that a Ryanair aircraft has experienced an issue. Earlier, a Ryanair flight arriving from Barcelona burst its landing gear tires upon landing at Bergamo Airport in northern Italy. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in that incident as well.

Ryanair has not yet commented on the specific causes of either incident, but the airline is expected to conduct a thorough investigation and cooperate with local aviation authorities to determine what led to these events.

The quick evacuation and safety measures undertaken by Ryanair’s crew at Brindisi Airport highlight the importance of safety training and emergency preparedness, ensuring that all passengers disembarked without harm.
