Ryanair has launched a 48-hour flash sale with one-way fares starting from 19.99 euro across its European network, with selected Mediterranean routes available from as little as 15 euro.
The promotion runs until midnight on 14 May and covers travel between 14 May and 30 June, including weekends. Greek island and coastal destinations feature prominently among the discounted routes.
The sale targets travellers seeking an early summer break at a time when air fares across Europe are under upward pressure. Among the routes highlighted are Milan Bergamo to Corfu from 15 euro, Naples to Pafos from 15 euro and Rome to Preveza from around 22 euro. Seats at the lowest price points are limited and prices are expected to rise as availability decreases.
Corfu and the Ionian Coast Among the Cheapest Options
Corfu remains one of Greece’s most popular summer destinations, drawing visitors to its north coast beaches and the Venetian-influenced old town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Paleokastritsa, known for its turquoise water, and the Canal d’Amour near Sidari are among the most visited stretches of coastline. The island’s old town offers narrow lanes, local restaurants and a distinct architectural character shaped by centuries of Venetian, French and British rule.
Preveza Offers Low-Key Alternative to Santorini and Mykonos
Flights from Rome to Preveza, in north-west Greece, open up the Epirus coast, a region known for clear seas and a quieter atmosphere than the more heavily visited Cycladic islands. The area around Sivota and the lagoon of Lefkada attracts travellers looking for beaches without the crowds, while the ancient ruins of Nicopolis, where the Roman emperor Octavian marked his victory over Mark Antony and Cleopatra in 31BC, offer a strong historical draw.
Harbour restaurants and seafood bars in the Preveza area have built a reputation among travellers seeking a more relaxed alternative to the larger resort islands. The region is accessible from several Italian departure points and has seen growing interest as an off-the-beaten-track summer option.
Paphos Combines Archaeology With Beach Tourism
Naples passengers can reach Paphos in Cyprus from 15 euro under the current promotion. The city holds UNESCO World Heritage status, largely because of its extensive Roman mosaic floors and its association with the cult of Aphrodite in the ancient world. Petra tou Romiou, the rocky coastal site linked by legend to the birth of the goddess, is among the most photographed locations on the island.
Paphos (Pafos) also offers a Venetian-era castle, an ancient harbour and a network of inland villages that attract visitors combining culture with beach breaks. Cyprus as a whole has positioned itself as a year-round destination, though summer remains its busiest period, with demand from British, German and other northern European travellers consistently high.
Sale Reflects Broader Pressure on Holiday Budgets
Ryanair has offered fares from 19.99 euro in a promotion valid for journeys scheduled in May and June, continuing a pattern of short-window sales the airline has used in recent months to stimulate demand ahead of peak summer. The flash sale highlights a familiar line-up of high-demand destinations, with Milan, Paris, Rome, Venice and Barcelona featuring prominently among the advertised deals.
Budget airlines have continued to use time-limited promotions to drive forward bookings during a period when many households are looking to reduce discretionary spending. The Florida to Bahamas corridor and the Italy to Greece corridor both represent high-frequency short-haul markets where competitive fares have a strong influence on booking behaviour. Travellers wishing to take advantage of the current Ryanair promotion must book before midnight on 14 May via the airline’s website or mobile app.
