Tropical Singapore is charming visitors and local residents during this festive season with magical Christmas experiences, captivating light displays, amazing ‘snowy’ installations and festive performances.
A number of events are also taking place around Singapore such as at Changi Airport and the greatly-anticipated multimedia exhibition Harry Potter: Visions of Magic.
Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay
Singapore’s biggest Christmas fair returns to Gardens by the Bay from 29 November 2024 to 1 January 2025.
Experience the surreal landscape of ‘snowfall’ in the Gardens daily with Blizzard Time, alongside the magnificent 20-metre-tall Spalliera light display, which is inspired by the pointed arches in Italian Gothic architecture and handmade by artisans from the south of Italy.
The Supertree Grove features a five-metre-tall light display of Santa Claus. Other highlights include an adorable trio of Merry Bears – with the biggest at nearly six metres tall, an enchanted forest and Merry Lane with installations featuring a colourful 50-metre-long Walk of Lights tunnel.
Christmas on A Great Street at Orchard Road
An annual signature event since 1984, Singapore’s shopping street, Orchard Road, is decked out in twinkly lights and all manner of festive ornaments every Christmas. Enjoy an evening stroll along this two-mile stretch to take in this dazzling spectacle this year from now to 1 January 2025.
The iconic street transforms into a firefly garden, blending classic Christmas stars, bells, and fir trees with enchanting wavelike beams of light that mimic the glow of fireflies. Check out the outdoor giant projection with augmented reality features and the Great Christmas Village featuring pop-up stores, family-friendly carnival rides and entertainment acts.
Asia’s first chocolate and coffee-themed Christmas carnival
The holiday season just got sweeter with CapitaLand Malls and Nestlé teaming up for Asia’s first-ever chocolate and coffee-themed Christmas carnival. From now until December 31, A Carnival of Festive Cheer spreads across 17 CapitaLand malls, transforming them into a holiday haven full of rich aromas, festive flavours, and dazzling decor.
Spot charming displays like the Nescafé Ferris wheel at malls or the playful carousel of Nescafé Dolce Gusto capsules.
Changi Airport features Hello Kitty carnival
Changi Airport has decided to honour Hello Kitty, the cult-favourite Sanrio character who’s celebrating her 50th anniversary this year, with special displays starting this festive season until February 2025.
At the centre of it all is a massive 8-metre Hello Kitty 50th anniversary topiary at the Terminal 3 Departure Hall. Hello Kitty is joined by her friends throughout the rest of the airport’s terminals. Check out the floral statue of Kuromi at the T1 Arrival Garden, surrounded by quirky curved Christmas trees adorned with pastel baubles and heart motifs.
Catch the Christmas Light & Sound Shows at the Jewel Rain Vortex that combine sound with light choreography and marvel at the water display of the 40-metre-tall indoor waterfall. The show takes place nightly from now to 2 January 2025. After the light show, there will be magical snowfall at the Shiseido Forest Valley and Canopy Park!
‘Harry Potter: Visions of Magic’
The Asian debut of multimedia exhibition of Harry Potter: Visions of Magic will be taking place at Resorts World Sentosa starting 22 November 2024 for an unspecified period of time. Using some of the best light and sound effects, this interactive experience will take you right into the wonderful Wizarding World.
The exhibition features 10 immersive themed zones, each one bringing to life an iconic scene from the Harry Potter movies. Though the pop-up has also been in other places like Germany and Brussels, Singapore gets to enjoy two additional exclusive areas.

Snow City
Snow City is Singapore’s first indoor snow centre which has elevated its signature winter wonderland experience with new attractions such as the new three-storey, 120-metre luge filled with thrilling twists and turns.
The extended 30-metre-long gallery features interactive displays made entirely of solid coloured ice blocks carved from real ice such as sculptures of a racing car, ice cream wall, a chef’s house and ice fairy garden. At the Snow Village Inspired by the beauty of the Alps, visitors can enjoy soft, real snowfall. The Ice Arena features Singapore’s only bumper car arena on ice
Universal Studios Singapore gets Wicked this Christmas
A Universal Christmas will make its return to Universal Studios Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa from November 29, 2024 to January 1, 2025. Guests will find themselves transported to the streets of the Emerald City, with a celebration of Wicked – Universal Pictures’ new film, in theatres November 21 – along with other festive encounters.
Another festive highlight to look out for include the Far Far Away Castle hosting the DreamWorks Animation Holiday Spectacular projection mapping show, which will showcase a variety of characters including DreamWorks Animation’s Shrek, Trolls, the Madagascar crew, and Kung Fu Panda’s Po.
