flydubai Expands Network with TAROM Partnership

flydubai has entered into an interline agreement with TAROM, Romania’s national airline, to expand its network reach across Eastern and Central Europe.

The partnership enables flydubai passengers to access 15 additional destinations on TAROM’s network via Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP). These include key cities such as Athens, Amsterdam, Brussels, Cluj-Napoca, Frankfurt, Madrid, and Paris.

The agreement simplifies travel between the UAE, Romania, and TAROM’s regional destinations by offering single-ticket itineraries and through baggage check-in. The move reflects flydubai’s continued strategy to enhance connectivity and support Dubai’s role as a global aviation hub while facilitating trade, tourism, and cultural exchange.

Strengthening Regional and European Connectivity

flydubai has operated flights to Bucharest since 2012 and currently runs double daily services between Dubai International (DXB) and Bucharest (OTP). The airline is scheduled to launch flights to Iași, its second Romanian destination, beginning 19 September 2025. The new interline agreement further builds on this presence by enabling passengers to extend their journeys seamlessly across Europe.

“We are excited to add TAROM to our growing list of interline partners,” said Ramesh Anantharaman, Divisional Senior Vice President of Revenue Management and Business Effectiveness at flydubai.

“This newest agreement will enable flydubai customers to benefit from greater access between Dubai and TAROM’s regional network across Eastern and Central Europe, enhancing trade, tourism and cultural exchange.”

He added that the partnership offers simplified travel options, including single-ticket bookings and through check-in of baggage to the final destination.

TAROM’s Strategic Expansion with flydubai

TAROM sees the partnership as a strategic step in enhancing its international connectivity. “As Romania’s national carrier, TAROM is delighted to join hands with flydubai,” said Costin Iordache, General Manager of TAROM. “It is a natural step in our strategy to facilitate connectivity between the cities we operate in and the most interesting travel destinations.”

“Together we will offer passengers safe, reliable and convenient travel options, connecting our regions and supporting tourism and business,” Iordache added.

Service and Fleet Expansion

Passengers flying Business Class on flydubai benefit from lie-flat seats, internationally inspired meals, and extensive in-flight entertainment. Economy Class passengers can also enjoy reclining seats with adjustable leather headrests. The carrier currently operates a fleet of 93 Boeing 737 aircraft and serves more than 135 destinations across 57 countries.

Since its launch, flydubai has introduced direct flights to over 100 underserved markets that previously lacked direct links to Dubai. The agreement with TAROM is expected to further strengthen these efforts and contribute to enhanced travel flow between the Gulf and Europe.
