Princess Cruises expands its Southern Caribbean programme for 2027 and 2028 with the addition of Barbados as a new homeport, offering travellers the option to sail roundtrip from either Barbados or San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The programme includes more than 30 voyages across 15 destinations, with Crown Princess sailing from January to March 2027 and Emerald Princess operating voyages from November 2027 through March 2028.
The itineraries range from six to nine nights, with most sailings lasting seven nights. The new Barbados departures go on sale on Thursday 5 March 2026 at 08:00, providing additional options for travellers seeking Caribbean cruises departing directly from the island.
The Barbados homeport programme complements the existing San Juan departures already available on both ships. The addition allows travellers, particularly from the UK and Europe, to fly directly to Barbados to begin their cruise holiday.
All itineraries include calls to San Juan and feature a range of Caribbean destinations throughout the season. Ports of call include Antigua, Dominica, Grenada, Martinique, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and Tortola, offering a mix of popular islands and lesser-visited destinations.
Direct flights to Barbados operate from Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham. Travellers may arrange flights independently or book through Princess Cruises’ Plane Sailing service, which provides late-arrival protection for cruise departures.
Eithne Williamson, Princess Cruises UK, Ireland & EMEA Vice President, said: “This expansion to include Barbados departures adds even greater variety in the highly sought-after Southern Caribbean and provides greater convenience to our guests travelling from the UK.
“Our Southern Caribbean itineraries include a mix of standout islands and hidden gems, from the lush scenery of St. Lucia to the calm beauty of Tortola, all paired with the exceptional service that Princess is renowned for.”
A seven-night Southern Caribbean cruise aboard Crown Princess sailing roundtrip from Barbados starts from £699 per person. The voyage departs 12 March 2027 and includes calls at San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Dominica and Grenada.
The Winter and Spring 2027 to 2028 programme aboard Emerald Princess also includes holiday sailings over Christmas and New Year. Prices start from £759 per person for a seven-night roundtrip cruise from Barbados departing 24 December 2027, with calls at San Juan, Tortola, St. Kitts, Dominica and Grenada.
