Shakira returns to Spain for Madrid concerts this September

Shakira will return to Spain this September to stage a three-night concert residency in Madrid as part of her Las mujeres ya no lloran World Tour.

The Colombian singer has confirmed performances on September 25, 26 and 27, with the shows set to take place at a purpose-built venue known as the Shakira Stadium. The event will combine live music with a wider programme of cultural activities curated by the artist.

The residency will transform the venue into a temporary cultural hub in Madrid, offering exhibitions, talks, workshops, film screenings, gastronomy and literary events under the concept Es Latina. Ticket presales will begin on March 24 for registered users, followed by additional presales on March 25 and 26, with general sales opening on March 27 at 10:00 AM.

The Madrid residency forms part of Shakira’s ongoing global tour, which began in February 2025 and has expanded across multiple continents. Ahead of the Spain dates, the singer is scheduled to perform in cities across Asia and Africa in March and April, followed by a major concert on Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro on May 2.

The three-night event marks a return to a country where the artist lived for several years and reflects a broader effort to create immersive experiences beyond traditional concerts. Organisers say the Madrid residency is designed to bring together music, culture and community, highlighting Latin identity and artistic expression.

The announcement follows a record-breaking performance earlier this year, when the singer drew 400,000 people to a free concert in Mexico City’s Zócalo on March 1. The scale of that event underscored the continued global demand for her live performances as the tour expands.

Tourism and hospitality stakeholders are expected to benefit from increased visitor numbers during the September residency, with Madrid positioning itself as a major cultural and music destination during the event period.
