TAV Airports Handles 19 Million Passengers in First Quarter of 2026

TAV Airports handled 19 million passengers across its airport portfolio in the first quarter of 2026, as traffic rose 7% year on year. The company said international passenger numbers reached 10.4 million, while domestic traffic totalled 8.6 million.

The airport operator also reported consolidated revenue of €361 million for the three months. TAV said the performance came despite continued global economic and geopolitical uncertainty.

Serkan Kaptan, Chief Executive Officer of TAV Airports, said: “The first quarter of 2026 passed amid increasing global economic and geopolitical uncertainty. Thanks to our unique business model and diversified portfolio, we were able to limit the impact of these uncertainties. Our passenger traffic increased by 7% compared with the same period last year, reaching 19 million and performing above global averages.”

Ankara was among the standout performers during the quarter. TAV said international traffic at Ankara rose 23% following the launch of new routes and support from low-cost airlines.

In Antalya, expanded capacity from a new terminal and supporting facilities that opened in April 2025 improved the passenger experience ahead of the busy summer season. TAV said the full impact of its service companies operating at Antalya would be seen during 2026.

Almaty Airport continued to record strong international traffic growth, while the second phase of its investment programme remained on schedule. The company said recent jet fuel supply policy changes in Kazakhstan created pressure on volumes and margins during the quarter.
