Avianca has launched a new premium status tier within its Lifemiles loyalty programme, offering frequent travellers benefits including cabin upgrades, unlimited lounge access and priority airport services.
The new tier, called Magno, was introduced as Lifemiles celebrated its 15th anniversary. Avianca said the status was designed for its most loyal customers and aimed to provide a more personalized and premium travel experience across every stage of the journey.
Lifemiles currently has more than 16 million members and operates across more than 11 countries. The programme also works with more than 200 commercial and banking partners worldwide.
Magno members will receive complimentary upgrades on INSIGNIA routes, Business Class flights across the Americas and domestic services, subject to availability. Additional benefits include unlimited access to Avianca VIP lounges, same-day flight changes on Colombian domestic routes and priority boarding and check-in.
The airline is also introducing personalized support from dedicated Magno Executive agents at El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá, alongside access to Fast Track security lanes where available.
Travellers with Magno status will be allowed to bring up to four guests into Avianca VIP lounges per visit. They will also receive limited access to GOL/Smiles and contracted partner lounges, along with Star Alliance Gold lounge privileges under alliance conditions.
Additional onboard perks include complimentary drinks and snacks in Economy Class, while members will also earn a 100% Elite Bonus with double miles on Avianca-operated flight segments.
The airline said the new status responds to changing expectations among premium travellers, with some prioritizing convenience and speed while others value comfort and exclusivity throughout the journey.
“We are thrilled to introduce Magno as part of Lifemiles’ 15th anniversary. This new status recognizes our most loyal travelers with a value proposition designed to elevate their experience at every stage of the journey, bringing together benefits, priority access, and more personalized support,” said Jaime Manso, Senior Vice President of Loyalty and Lifemiles.
“Magno reflects our vision of continuing to build a more relevant and distinctive relationship with our members because Magno is more than a status; it is a new way to fly,” he added.
