Cairo Set to Host Hospitality Leaders as Egypt’s Hotel Sector Surges

Cairo will host hospitality leaders, investors and developers this November as Egypt’s hotel sector continues to post record growth and attract significant new investment.

The Future Hospitality Summit (FHS) Egypt will take place on 10-11 November 2026 at Sofitel Downtown Cairo Nile. The event follows a launch reception hosted by The Bench on 11 June, where industry leaders highlighted Egypt’s strong tourism performance, growing hotel revenues and expanding development pipeline.

The launch event brought together representatives from major developers including Qatari Diar, Emaar Misr, Orascom Development, City Edge Developments, ADD Properties and Grova Development, alongside hotel operators, investors, consultants and advisors from across the region.

An exclusive market outlook presented by STR showed Egypt’s hotel sector achieved its strongest demand levels since records began in 2000. Hotel demand exceeded 45.5 million room nights in 2025, representing 10% year-on-year growth.

Occupancy reached 70% in 2025, while Egypt ranked among the world’s top 10 countries for hotel demand growth, outperforming many established tourism destinations.

STR data also showed hotel sector revenues increased by 46% year-on-year in 2025, generating an additional USD 1.6 billion in revenue. Tourism now contributes approximately 8.7% of Egypt’s economy, highlighting the sector’s growing importance to national development.

The event also featured a panel discussion titled “Investing Egypt: From Vision to Keys in Hand,” with speakers from JLL, Radisson Hotel Group, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Kerten Hospitality and Aleph Hospitality. Discussions focused on development finance, brand partnerships, operational readiness and opportunities across Egypt’s hospitality market.

Investor confidence is also reflected in Egypt’s development pipeline. More than 34,000 hotel rooms are currently planned or under development across proposed, planning and construction stages.

Matthew Weihs, Chief Development Officer, The Bench, said: “The data tells a compelling story. Egypt is no longer being viewed solely as a tourism destination; it is increasingly being recognised as one of the most exciting hospitality investment opportunities in the region. The level of engagement we’ve seen ahead of FHS Egypt demonstrates the appetite among developers, operators and investors to capitalise on that momentum.”

Industry forecasts suggest Egypt’s hospitality market could reach USD 8.8 billion by 2033. Organisers say FHS Egypt will provide a platform for senior decision-makers to identify opportunities, establish partnerships and advance projects supporting the next phase of tourism and hospitality growth.

The conference also reflects Egypt’s ambition to strengthen its position as a leading tourism and hospitality investment destination in the Middle East and Africa, supported by rising visitor demand, increasing revenues and continued hotel development activity.
