Therme Singapore breaks ground on Asia’s first large-scale integrated wellbeing destination

Therme Group, a global developer and operator of large-scale wellbeing destinations, has marked the groundbreaking of Therme Singapore, a state-of-the-art development slated to open at Marina South in 2030.

“Therme Group’s vision is to create a new form of social infrastructure, where wellbeing is accessible, joyful and integrated into everyday city life. Nature is woven throughout the development. The extensive landscaped environments will feature more than 200,000 plants across over 200 species, including orchids and native Southeast Asian varieties, strengthening the local biodiversity while creating immersive indoor and outdoor green environments.

Beyond the development, a coastal public park spanning almost 4 hectares will be created to connect Therme Singapore with Marina Barrage, enhancing public access to green spaces while strengthening the ecological and recreational value of the waterfront district.

The development will incorporate a range of sustainability measures, including energy-efficient building systems, solar photovoltaic panels, smart irrigation technologies and climate-adaptive landscaping strategies aimed at reducing operational carbon emissionsand supporting biodiversity.

Advanced technologies will also be integrated across operations and the visitor experience. These include waterproof RFID wristbands that function as locker keys and cashless payment tools, a next-generation robotic locker system designed to optimise convenienceand space utilisation, and advanced ozone-based water filtration systems that enhance water quality and operational efficiency.
