Dusit Expands ASAI Hotels with New Properties in Phuket and Hat Yai

Dusit International has expanded the pipeline of its lifestyle brand ASAI Hotels by signing management agreements for two new properties in Southern Thailand. ASAI Hat Yai is scheduled to open in 2028, followed by ASAI Patong Phuket in 2029, strengthening the brand’s presence in two of the country’s fastest growing tourism destinations.

The new hotels form part of Dusit’s strategy to grow ASAI Hotels in destinations where culture, community and local experiences play a central role. Designed for experience driven travellers, the properties will offer compact rooms, vibrant social spaces and neighbourhood focused hospitality at accessible rates.

Since launching with ASAI Bangkok Chinatown in 2020, the brand has expanded to include ASAI Bangkok Sathorn and ASAI Kyoto Shijo in Japan. The latest additions continue Dusit’s focus on lifestyle hospitality that combines thoughtful design with authentic local connections.

Chanin Donavanik, Group CEO of Dusit International, said: “Today’s travellers are increasingly looking beyond traditional hotel stays. They want places that reflect the character of their destination, provide opportunities for connection, and deliver meaningful experiences without compromising on quality or value.”

He added: “ASAI Hotels was created with these evolving expectations in mind, and the signing of ASAI Hat Yai and ASAI Patong Phuket demonstrates our confidence in the long-term potential of Thailand’s lifestyle hospitality segment. Both destinations have their own unique energy and strong growth prospects, and we look forward to introducing hotels that connect guests with the communities, culture, and experiences that make each location special.”

ASAI Hat Yai to open in 2028

Located on Samchai Road in the centre of Hat Yai, ASAI Hat Yai will introduce the brand to one of Southern Thailand’s leading commercial and tourism hubs. The city serves as an important gateway between Thailand and Malaysia and continues to attract domestic and cross border travellers thanks to its transport links, street food culture and Thai Chinese heritage.

The hotel will feature 116 guestrooms designed for different travel styles, including rooms for solo travellers, couples, families and groups. Facilities will include an all day dining restaurant, café and bar, flexible co working spaces, meeting rooms and a fitness centre, creating a neighbourhood hub for both visitors and local residents.

Patong hotel targets lifestyle travellers

ASAI Patong Phuket will bring the brand’s locally inspired concept to one of Asia’s most popular island destinations. Located about five minutes from Patong Beach and around one hour by car from Phuket International Airport, the hotel will offer approximately 85 rooms.

The property will feature a ground floor café and social space based on ASAI’s Eat, Work, Play concept, together with a rooftop swimming pool and fitness facilities. The design aims to reflect Patong’s mix of beach life, local dining, entertainment and creative culture, providing guests with an alternative to a traditional resort experience.

The expansion comes as ASAI Hotels prepares to enter additional international markets. The brand is scheduled to debut in Malaysia during the third quarter of 2026 with ASAI Gamuda Cove near Kuala Lumpur, while future openings are also planned in the Philippines with ASAI Oslob Cebu in late 2027 and ASAI Camaya Coast in late 2028.

ASAI Hotels is one of nine brands within Dusit Hotels and Resorts, the hospitality portfolio of Dusit International. The group currently operates across 19 countries with 50 hotels and approximately 237 luxury villas under Elite Havens, while more than 50 additional Dusit Hotels and Resorts properties are in development worldwide.

By expanding ASAI Hotels into Hat Yai and Phuket, Dusit continues to strengthen its presence in the growing lifestyle hospitality sector while offering travellers more opportunities to experience Thailand through locally inspired accommodation, community connections and neighbourhood experiences.
