TUI fly to commence flights to Cyprus

TUI fly is expanding its route network till summer 2019 with a destination that is considered a tourist all-rounder: Larnaca, Cyprus.

From the 2nd of May 2019, TUI fly will commence flights to the mediterranean island and depart from Düsseldorf and Frankfurt airports on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All in all, the popular holiday airline offers more than 20,000 seats to Cyprus.

“In 2019, we plan to expand our fleet to a total of 39 Boeing 737s and we will thereby also make several new approaches. To emphasize our close relationship with our destinations, all the new aircraft will be named as one destination. So we look forward to the next year when we will baptize a new Boeing 737 MAX in the name of Larnaca, underlining the growing importance of Cyprus for the German travel market, which has recently been accompanied by extensive program expansion of the TUI hotel brands, “says Roland Keppler, CEO of TUI fly GmbH.

Minister of Tourism Georgios Lakkotrypis welcomes this positive development: “Tourism is one of the most important industries in Cyprus. By extending its flight services, TUI will allow more people to discover our lovely Cyprus. We are very proud of our cooperation with TUI and look forward to a great tourism year 2019.”

The versatility of the island is also reflected in the hotel offer. Whether families, couples or millennials – the TUI guests can choose from around 220 hotels on the third largest mediterranean island. In particular, the own hotel concepts, such as TUI Sensimar and Suneo Club, are experiencing an extensive expansion in the summer of 2019. Also the popular hotels of TUI Family Life and Best Family are represented in Cyprus and thus offer the best conditions for an unforgettable family holiday.

While beach lovers will find relaxation on the numerous beaches of Cyprus, active holidaymakers appreciate the area around Paphos with the adjoining Troodos Mountains, which invite to long walks. For those who like something more lively, the student city of Limassol with its distinct bar and restaurant scene offers the perfect mix.

In the summer of 2007, Hapag-Lloyd Express (HLX) and Hapagfly merged to form TUI fly. The airline is a wholly-owned enterprise of the TUI Group, the world’s leading tourism troup with headquarters in Hanover, Germany. TUI fly flies to the classic holiday regions all around the Mediterranean, the Canary and Cape Verde Islands, Madeira and Egypt for TUI and other tour operators. By the summer of 2014, TUI fly used 40 Boeing 737 aircraft to fly to these destinations. TUI fly offers a high degree of quality for a fair price with characteristic reliability, punctuality and safety. TUI fly headquarters are at the Hanover Airport.
