Site Announced New Thailand Chapter

In support of SITE’s goals to grow its global presence and advance the incentive travel industry worldwide, SITE announced the formation of a new chapter–SITE Thailand—during the 2019 SITE Global Conference, which took place Jan 11-13.

With the addition of this chapter, SITE has 30 chapters worldwide and 2,480 members based in 90 countries.

Currently, Thailand has 23 incentive travel professionals who are members of the SITE Thailand Chapter. The chapter will operate as a center for networking, organizing meetings and incentive activities and aims to encourage a new generation to get involved and provide supporting activities in terms of knowledge and learning processes for SITE members in the region.

“SITE is pleased that SITE Thailand has been established as a result of the effort of so many professionals from the Thailand MICE community. Having a dedicated SITE chapter in country will highlight and promote Thailand as the incredible incentive destination it is. It will also ensure that incentive travel professionals in Thailand have access to best-in-class networking, education and certification,” said SITE President Philip Eidsvold, CIS, CITP.

Under the leadership of Thailand Chapter President Max Boontawee Jantasuwan, CIS, Founding CEO, Event Travel Asia Group (ETA), the chapter’s goals include: creating SITE awareness and its value proposition; enhancing Thailand’s position as a leading incentive travel destination; building a sustainable future for both the society and the incentive travel industry and establishing a next generation community focusing on peripheral services like technology and design and a mentor/mentee pairing program.

“We are delighted to continue the SITE Global Conference 2019 legacy by starting a SITE Thailand Chapter this year. The industry here is looking forward to strengthening our country’s lead in incentive travel knowledge and capabilities through this chapter and working closely with our national organizations like TCEB {Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau} and TICA {Thailand Incentive and Convention Association}. We are ready to serve and support our community in driving towards sustainable business models and practices,” said Jantasuwan.

Nichapa Yoswee, Senior Vice President, Business, Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) said, “Thailand is delighted to welcome the formation of the SITE Thailand chapter. Our collaboration with SITE Global for the 2019 SITE Global Conference in Thailand has certainly further ignited the country’s passion for incentive travel. We will certainly support the success of this chapter.”

Jantasuwan also plans to collaborate with national organizations like TICA to develop educational sessions combined with business networking opportunities, strengthen Thailand’s incentive travel product and development strategies and capabilities; increase presence among SITE global community and chapters and, using SITE’s research and development share knowledge and best practices with members and create sustainable relationships among local chapter members and international members.
