IntercityHotel to Open in Paderborn

The IntercityHotel family continues its portfolio growth with a new addition in Germany.

A new generation IntercityHotel is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2022 in Paderborn, a university city in North Rhine-Westphalia with over 150,000 inhabitants.

Paderborn is in great demand as a venue for conferences and meetings. It offers a diverse cultural landscape and plenty of opportunities for recreation in the form of nearby parks, gardens, forests and lakes. The IntercityHotel being planned will form part of the city’s new main railway station.

When building is complete, the hotel will provide 190 rooms, a conference area, a Bistro Lounge Restaurant and parking facilities in the immediate vicinity. The interior design concept by the Italian architect Matteo Thun will ensure a high-quality and feel-good atmosphere. Guests will also enjoy the added benefit of the FreeCityTicket scheme, which permits use of the whole of the city’s public transport system free of charge.

“We are looking forward to bringing all the great advantages that the IntercityHotel concept offers to business and leisure travellers alike to Paderborn in the not too distant future,” said Joachim Marusczyk, founding Managing Director of InterCityHotel GmbH. “Together with our partner, BREMER Projektentwicklung GmbH, headquartered in Paderborn, we are now taking the next steps in the realization of the project.”

“We develop competitive and commercially attractive properties on behalf of our customers at many locations both in Germany and beyond,” said Bernd Jungholt, Managing Director of BREMER Projektentwicklung GmbH. “As a Paderborn company, we are particularly pleased to be working locally with Deutsche Hospitality on the development of an IntercityHotel.”

More than 40 other IntercityHotels can be found at major transport hubs in cities both in Germany and abroad. Numerous further hotels are at the development stage.
