Online Education for the Short-Term Rental Sector

Swiss Hotel School Launches Online Education and Training for the Short-Term Rental Sector

The next-generation Swiss hotel school, hotel.school is recognized by the European Holiday Home Association (EHHA) as a provider of education and training for the short-term rental sector.

EHHA was founded in 2013 to give a voice to the short-term rental (STR) industry in Europe. To this day it gathers over 50 members: national trade associations and national/international companies operating in the short-term rental industry in Europe.

The Vacation Rental Collection is the result of a strategic partnership between hotel.school and AJL Atelier to develop and deliver virtual micro-courses that aim to develop specific skills and elevate professionalism in the Vacation and Short-Term rental sector. The collection includes high-impact courses created by experienced leaders in the sector: Business Strategy, Revenue Management & Profitability, by Simon Lehmann; Operations Management by Staysafe’s Co-Founder Natasha Morgan; Marketing by former Expedia Executive Susan Tormollen; Technology and Data by Airsset Technologies’ CEO Michael Driedger and Rented’s CCO Cliff Johnson and finally, Distribution by Natural Retreat’s Sarah Franzen.

Courses can be found on hotel.school’s website. Each course is formed by 25-30 short (15-minute) lessons, videos, quizzes and exercises.

Participants can use any device to learn at their pace, anywhere, and take an average of 2-4 weeks to complete the course, and earn a (blockchain verified) micro-credential certification upon completion of each.

Members of EHHA receive 20% off the full VR collection or individual courses.

Per the terms of the agreement, hotel.school commits to following EHHA recommendations and guidelines, and will collaborate with creation of original
content to help in educating and skilling professionals in the Vacation and Short Term Rental sector.

“We are very excited that the EHHA embraces the importance of education and the partnership is a great sign of commitment to make short term rental a professional industry. As a former founding member of EHHA it makes me very proud” said, Simon Lehmann, AJL Co-Founder.

“We are delighted to endorse and work on further development of the first of its kind virtual micro-courses that aim to educate and upskill people already working or just planning to work in a short-term rental sector. Short-term rental education is what we needed and we cheer hotel.school and AJL Atelier for this great initiative!” commented Carlos Villaro Lassen, Secretary General of EHHA.
