Meliá Hotels International Debuts Gran Meliá in Mexico and Expands ME by Meliá Brand

Meliá Hotels International, a prominent name in the luxury hotel segment, is set to fortify its global presence with the unveiling of two brand-new hotels in Mexico.

The forthcoming hotels indicate Meliá’s escalating commitment to Mexico, a top-ranking global travel spot. Gran Meliá Hotels & Resorts is all set to introduce its first property in the country, while ME by Meliá will extend its footprint with its second Mexican location.

Following the outstanding reception of the ME Cabo Hotel, the latest ME by Meliá establishment will make its mark in Guadalajara. This will be the brand’s inaugural city hotel in Mexico, promising to infuse the vibrant and cultural city with its signature luxury and style. Designed to be an event magnet, ME Guadalajara will offer 150 sophisticated rooms and suites. Standout features include a sky pool and a grand rooftop area, coupled with diverse, world-class dining experiences.

Meanwhile, the acclaimed Gran Meliá luxury brand, celebrated for its impeccable standards and Spanish heritage, is making headway in Rivera Nayarit. Located a mere 70km from Puerto Vallarta Airport, this new hotel will bask in the scenic beauty of its surroundings. Positioned adjacent to the Pacific Ocean, it will boast 180 rooms and suites. Guests can anticipate a luxurious stay, marked by intricate details and a sophisticated aesthetic.

The CEO of Meliá Hotels International, Gabriel Escarrer, stated, “The addition of these two new hotels is a major boost to the international growth of our luxury brands.” He expressed confidence in the Gran Meliá brand’s promising venture into Mexico’s flourishing luxury hotel landscape.

Mexico’s tourism sector is witnessing a growth spurt, having surpassed its 2019 international tourist count in 2022. The country is a hot favorite among travelers from the US, Canada, and other American countries, including Colombia.

These fresh additions will join 7 active hotels and 3 forthcoming properties under the Meliá Hotels International banner in Mexico. Furthermore, Gran Meliá Hotels & Resorts is poised for international expansion, with plans to venture into five new countries with seven hotels.
