Beyond Cruises continues to sail beyond the ordinary by adding its new Italy River Barge cruise aboard the Deluxe Hotel Barge La Bella Vita to its growing portfolio of innovative barge programs.
This seven-day itinerary will take passengers along Italy’s most breathtaking canals while sipping on the best of Italian proseccos. The Italy Barge Cruises’ departure schedule is from March through October 2020 and starts at $4,050 per stateroom.
Beyond Cruises’ programs are designed to provide guests with a relaxing, yet well-informed itinerary. Barge voyages create experiences for their guests unique to small-ship sailing, including access to small ports. Highlights of the Italy Barge Cruise include:
- A Guided tour of Doge’s Palace in Venice
- Visit 18th century Church of San Domenico, set on its own island
- A short tour of Chioggia’s canals in a traditional, locally built boat

- Private visit and wine tasting at the wine cellars of Villa Widmann Borletti

Onboard, except for the one dinner ashore, La Bella Vita’s gourmet chef serves delicious Italian specialties, while guests dine al fresco and enjoy the relaxed slow-paced cruising along the Italian countryside. The barge also passes through a nature reserve where guests can get up close and personal, feast their eyes on beautiful flamingos and spot other wildlife unique to the area.
