Oktoberfest in Valencia is back, bringing an authentic Bavarian experience to the city with 11 days of traditional German beer, music, and food.
For 11 days, from September 19 to 29, the city will transform into a hub of German festivities, offering visitors the chance to enjoy traditional Bavarian beers, music, and food in a massive 5,000 m² open-air venue next to the Las Arenas hotel.
Meanwhile, the Paulaner Oktoberfest in Madrid has already kicked off, setting the stage for a season of celebrations across Spain.
Coinciding with the iconic Munich Oktoberfest, this event will offer a variety of classic German beers, including the renowned Paulaner Münchner Hell, Weissbier, and Salvator, all served by waiters dressed in traditional Bavarian attire. Those looking for lighter options can choose from alcohol-free or gluten-free alternatives, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
The Paulaner in Valencia kicks off on September 19 at 6:00 p.m. with the ceremonial “opening of the first keg of beer” and the traditional cry of “O’Zapft is!” which signals the official start of the festivities. Visitors will have the chance to savor a range of German delicacies such as pretzels, bratwurst, pork knuckle, and the beloved apple pie, Apfelstrudel, all served from various food trucks on site.
A lively DJ will be spinning tracks daily to keep the festive atmosphere buzzing, while traditional games and activities like the mug-raising contest will add to the fun. Alongside the Bavarian food trucks, there will be other gastronomic options, including vegetarian and gluten-free meals, ensuring no one is left out of the culinary celebration.
The venue, thoughtfully decorated with artificial grass, lights, plants, and long communal tables, offers a picturesque setting that echoes the authentic German beer garden ambiance. This year’s event has expanded its entertainment program with a mix of live music and games, making it the biggest and most varied beer festival in the region.
“The response from the public last year was phenomenal,” said one of the event organizers. “This year, we’re bringing even more excitement with new entertainment options and a wider range of food and drinks.”
