7132 Launches Holistic Wellness Experiences

7132, one of Europe’s finest wellness retreats located in the Swiss Alps village of Vals, has launched a series of new nature-forward wellness experiences in celebration of the 25th anniversary of its thermal baths.

Designed to stimulate long-lasting health and wellness benefits, 7132’s exclusive range of deeply restorative experiences feature unique arts and culture-inspired elements and will include art-house cinema screenings in the spa, healing treatments surrounded by nature, night swimming, and an exclusive once in a lifetime experience.

New wellness experiences launching this year include:

  • 7132 Alpine Ritual Forest Bathing Spa Treatment: To be fully immersed in the property’s breathtaking natural landscapes, guests can experience high altitude Alpine therapy encompassing personalised massage treatments in the heart of a nearby forest surrounded by fir trees and lush ferns. The wellness experience utilises local ingredients such as mountain herb-infused oils and is rooted in the belief that embracing the sights, scents, and sounds of the forest can improve physical and mental wellbeing.

  • 7132 Swimming In Darkness: French novelist Lucas Harari was inspired to write a thrilling graphic novel, titled Swimming in Darkness, that tells the story of Pierre, a young architecture student who becomes obsessed with the thermal baths while writing his thesis and then travels to the resort to experience its mysterious energy. Guests can follow in his footsteps and read a complimentary copy of the novel before enjoying a rejuvenating nighttime dip in the baths.

The screenings will include a mix of architecture and art house-themed documentaries, spotlighting the life of Peter Zumthor, the history of the baths, and Hollywood classics.

The new 7132 Thermal Cinema screenings will take place on Wednesday and Sunday evenings from 8pm – 11pm from June 15 – 17, 2022. The experience (complimentary for hotel guests) can be followed by a nighttime swim.

7132’s iconic thermal baths were the creation of renowned local architect Peter Zumthor, and since its opening 25 years ago, the quiet village of Vals has been elevated to international prominence with the spa becoming a mecca for wellness and architecture enthusiasts from around the world. The thermal baths pay homage to the surrounding area’s dramatic mountain landscape, combining 60,000 slabs of Vals quartzite stone with highly mineralised healing waters from the nearby St. Peter’s spring. Highlights include seven pools, including the main outdoor pool, that range in temperature from 14°C to 42°C. There are also seven treatment rooms with a wide range of treatments available using ESPA products, a water massage room, multiple relaxation rooms and spaces, steam rooms and saunas, a hair salon, well-equipped gym, and an onsite shop.

A destination within itself, 7132 is comprised of two adjacent hotels – the Swiss designated ‘five-star superior’ 7132 Hotel, which is a member of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts Legend Collection, and the House of Architects design hotel; a private chalet in the village – 7132 Glenner; a range of seven restaurants and bars offering varied cuisine including the two-Michelin Star 7132 Silver Restaurant; a kid’s club; and the iconic thermal baths.
