JetBlue Appoints Susan Pfingstler

JetBlue (NASDAQ: JBLU) has made a significant leadership appointment by naming Susan Pfingstler as the Vice President of JetBlue University. In this role, Pfingstler will be responsible for overseeing the airline’s renowned training programs and state-of-the-art facilities.

She will report to Warren Christie, JetBlue’s head of safety, security, fleet operations, and JetBlue University.

JetBlue University, which operates from locations in Orlando, New York, and Salt Lake City, offers comprehensive training for various departments, including airports, customer support, flight operations, inflight services, system operations, technical operations, and pilot training services for other airlines worldwide.



Warren Christie emphasized the importance of JetBlue University, stating, “The journey of every JetBlue crewmember begins at JetBlue University—it’s a vital touchpoint that continues throughout their careers.” He expressed confidence in Pfingstler’s industry knowledge and leadership experience, which will further empower crewmembers by equipping them with enhanced knowledge and skills for success.

Prior to joining JetBlue, Susan Pfingstler served as the managing director of network operations and air traffic control strategy at United Airlines. She brings with her a wealth of experience, having held positions with prestigious organizations such as the Federal Aviation Administration, the International Air Transport Association, and the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey. Pfingstler began her career as a pilot based in New York City, accumulating valuable experience in both the corporate and Part 121 airline sectors.



Expressing her excitement about joining JetBlue, Pfingstler said, “It’s an honor to be joining the world-class team responsible for implementing JetBlue’s innovative learning programs.” She looks forward to supporting crewmembers as the airline continues to grow and evolve.

Pfingstler’s qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in professional aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Additionally, she serves on the Board of NASA’s Advisory Council Aeronautics Committee and is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.

With the appointment of Susan Pfingstler, JetBlue aims to strengthen its position as a leader in providing excellent training and development opportunities to its crewmembers, further enhancing the airline’s commitment to operational excellence and passenger satisfaction.
