Top 4 Clubs of the Premier League Right Now

The English Premier League has a reputation for being one of the most competitive divisions in elite level football, with well-funded teams.

Unlike other European leagues that have just seen a couple clubs dominate it over time (such as Serie A), there are six big names competing for top spot each season.

The Premier League is home to some of the best clubs in the world, and the competition is always intense. Right now, the top 4 clubs are Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal. These clubs have developed a rivalry over the years, and they are always fighting for the top spot. A notable absence from this list is Manchester United. The English giants are currently in a slump and might take some time to recover and rise back to the top.

With so much at stake, every game is crucial. Here is a closer look at the top 4 clubs of the Premier League right now:

1.   Manchester City

When Sheikh Mansour took over Manchester City, they were an England team in the European leagues. But with his investment and help from some of today’s top managers like Pep Guardiola or Manuel Pellegrini; he turned them into a dominant force within UK football that attracts players all around the world to play for this club.

City are the reigning champions and they are once again looking like the team to beat this season. After failing to secure a slot at the FA cup finals the star-studded squad under the management of Pep Guardiola are determined to maintain the premier league title for the fourth time in a row.

2.   Liverpool FC

Liverpool’s long wait for Premier League glory came to an end in 2020, when they finally claimed the title after two decades at the top of English football.

The Reds are currently on an incredible run, having won their last 17 league games. They have a strong squad and are led by one of the best managers in the business, Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool came so close to winning the title last year, but ultimately fell just short and lost to their biggest competitors Manchester City. They will be determined to go one better this season, and with star players like Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, they have more than enough quality to do so.

3.   Chelsea FC

The Chelsea Football Club was founded in 1905, but it wasn’t until Roman Abramovich’s investment that the team became a fixture of England’s top four. With managers like Jose Mourinho and Conte have made their teams contenders for league titles, with Chelsea now established as one of Europe’s biggest beneficiaries.

Chelsea are another club with a lot of attacking firepower, and they will be looking to improve on their third-place finish last season. They have a new manager at the helm in Maurizio Sarri, and he will be hoping to get the best out of players like Eden Hazard and Gonzalo Higuain.

4.   Arsenal

Arsenal’s legacies have slumped since the latter half of the 2010s, especially since Arsene Wenger’s departure, but the Gunners were once a member of the traditional ‘top four.’ They have been forced to accept Europa League qualification rather than a place in the Champions League.

There has suddenly been a turn of events in the 2021-2022 season with Arsenal currently occupying the 4th place in the Premier League, behind Chelsea. While Arsenal has had a rocky season, they are still one of the top clubs in the league and have a chance to improve their position in the standings with a stiff competition from Tottenham Hotspur who are lagging behind with a point difference of four.

Arsenal’s strengths include their strong offensive attack, led by striker Eddie Nketiah. They also have a solid defense, which has been key to their success this season. Arsenal will need to continue to play well if they want to finish in the top 4 and qualify for the Champions League next season.

Closing Thoughts

As the Premier League season nears its close and with most teams having less than five games at hand, the competition for top four is stiffening. With Chelsea tightening their boots after overcoming some early setbacks they are now and are now looking like a real force to be reckoned with. We are yet to draw a conclusion on number four. There’s Tottenham Hotspur, who have had an up-and-down season but are still very much in contention for a top-four finish. So, which of these teams will come out on top? Only time will tell…
