Stay and Work from Bermuda

For those seeking a warmer climate over the cold winter months, Bermuda Tourism Authority has announced that its Island hotels & resorts are now offering extended stay options for visitors to Bermuda.

With the introduction of the Work from Bermuda Certificate, a number of Bermuda hotels are ready to welcome guests to stay safely and for extended periods, from cosy cottages on a private 30-acre peninsula; a 400-room urban resort that overlooks the breathtaking Hamilton Harbour or a secluded private island.

With a mix of British charm and island soul, Bermuda is at once intriguing and inviting. This 21-square mile paradise is composed of 181 islands, and when approaching by air, the explosion of colours – vivid blues, greens and pastels – leaves no doubt that this indeed is a slice of heaven.

Add into the mix a subtropical climate, historic towns and modern conveniences, and you have a destination unlike any other.

“The island of Bermuda is open, safe and ready to welcome travelers in search of a truly extraordinary escape. A getaway in Bermuda during the winter months delivers warm weather, cultural exploration, exciting sporting events and for those working remotely from the island, there are excellent concierge services and office facilities to support your business needs.

With direct flights – just under seven hours from the UK – and new offers like the Work from Bermudaprogram and extended stay options, Out Here is looking better than ever.” said Bermuda Tourism Authority CEO Glenn Jones.

Bermuda’s comprehensive COVID-19 strategy resulted in the island becoming one of the most successful countries in the world at controlling the virus.

Bermuda’s ranking by the US Center for Disease Control (CDC) was improved this week to the highest safety level – “no travel health notice: Covid-19 risk is very low”. A robust testing regime is enabling visitors to explore the island safely and comfortably. The island also was recognized with the WorldTravel & Tourism “Safe Travels” stamp for its exemplary management of the issue.

In August, Bermuda introduced the Work from Bermuda Certificate, allowing executives and students to work and study remotely from the island in a stunning and worry-free environment. For just a $263application fee per person, the new incentive allows travellers to move to the island for a year while working remotely. The program also includes the flexibility to travel back and forth seamlessly and to bring the family along as well.

Covid-19 Travel Updates

Bermuda has enhanced and elevated its safety and hygiene protocols throughout the island and introduced new programs aimed at digital nomads and their families.

Effective 26th October 2020, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced Bermuda has been removed from its Level2 Travel Health Advisory List. The CDC has changed Bermuda’s country classification from “Alert Level2: Moderate Risk” to “No Travel Health Notice: COVID-19 Risk is Very Low.”

Bermuda also earned the Safe Travels Stamp from the World Travel & Tourism Council.

Safety Protocols

No more than seven days before departure, visitors to Bermuda must take a PCRCOVID-19 test and obtain a negative result; they are also required to complete the Bermuda travel authorization process online 48 hours before arrival.

During their time on the island, visitors must take their own temperature daily and report via the online application/portal.

They are also required to take follow-up COVID-19 tests, administered on day 4, day 8, and day 14 of their stay at easily accessible satellite centres.

Visitors must wear face masks and practice physical distancing at the airport, in-flight, and upon arrival to the greatest extent possible.
