Azerbaijan Drops Covid Vaccine Requirement

From March 28, anyone wishing to travel to Azerbaijan no longer needs to present proof of a corona vaccination or proof of recovery.

The Azerbaijani government still encourages visitors to get vaccinated before traveling, but this is no longer a requirement for entry.

Azerbaijan has dropped the requirement of Covid passport for foreign citizens to enter the country in recognition of the declining number of Covid-19 cases.

The government’s latest decision is expected to make travel easier and is a positive step forward for the tourism industry.

According to a measure by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, dated 18 April 2020, in accordance with Article 25 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan, ‘On Sanitary and Epidemiological Safety’, the special quarantine regime applied in the country has been extended until 1 May 2023 at 06:00.

From 28 March 2023 at 06:00, entry into and exit out of the Republic of Azerbaijan of all foreign citizens, citizens of other countries permanently residing in those countries and stateless persons was permitted by air transport.

Based on an analysis of the global situation in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic and in order to prevent the spread of the virus in the country, measures on exiting and entering the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan by overland means of transport across land borders, excluding cargo transportation, as well as restrictions on international and charter flights, have been extended until 1 May 2023.
