A new Marriott hotel is coming next to Britain’s biggest car museum

A new Fairfield by Marriott hotel is under development next to the British Motor Museum in Warwickshire, bringing 142 bedrooms within walking distance of one of the UK’s leading conference and visitor venues.

The project is scheduled for practical completion in May 2027, with an opening planned for June 2027, marking the first Fairfield by Marriott property in the United Kingdom.

The hotel aims to provide convenient, internationally branded accommodation for conference delegates, event organisers and museum visitors, strengthening the site’s appeal for multi-day programmes and large-scale gatherings. A second phase could add 98 more bedrooms in the future, depending on demand.

The British Motor Museum, home to the world’s largest collection of historic British cars, is a major hub for business events, conferences and exhibitions as well as a popular visitor attraction. Its flexible indoor spaces host groups from 6 to 600 delegates, including a Conference and Exhibition Suite that can seat up to 600 people theatre-style and offers direct vehicle access. The venue also provides 2,255 square metres of exhibition space and 65 acres of outdoor event grounds used for launches, displays and large programmes.

The arrival of on-site accommodation is expected to improve the overall experience for event organisers and attendees by reducing travel time between venue and hotel, supporting early morning sessions, evening networking events and smoother residential conferences.

“The British Motor Museum is a distinctive and proven venue for business events, as well as a creative and inspiring destination for visitors,” said Toby Batchelor, Head of Commerce at the British Motor Museum.

“Having more bedrooms close by strengthens what we can offer organisers, particularly for multi-day programmes and evening events. The hotel is a separate, independently operated business, but we will be working closely with their management and delivery teams to maximise benefits for our delegates and visitors. For planners, the Fairfield will add an extra layer of ease, with accommodation close at hand and a consistent standard guests can trust.”

The Fairfield by Marriott brand focuses on simplicity, productivity and value, offering what it describes as trusted essentials, warm hospitality and comfortable stays designed around routine-friendly travel. The hotel will be managed by Cycas Hospitality, a hospitality management company operating branded hotels across Europe.

As a charity, the British Motor Museum relies on income from visitors, donations and commercial activities, particularly business events, to support its work preserving and showcasing Britain’s automotive heritage. The addition of the hotel is expected to broaden its appeal to new audiences while strengthening its position in the meetings and events market.

Located just minutes from Junction 12 of the M40, the museum is already a well-connected destination for national and regional events. Its combination of contemporary conference facilities, extensive outdoor space and unique automotive setting has made it a popular choice for corporate gatherings, product launches and exhibitions.

The new Fairfield by Marriott hotel is positioned to complement these facilities by offering reliable, modern accommodation nearby, a factor increasingly important for organisers planning residential conferences and multi-day events. With construction now underway and a 2027 opening targeted, the development represents a significant investment in the area’s business travel and visitor infrastructure.
