IL Tornabuoni

AG Hotels Opens A New 5-star Luxury Hotel in Florence: IL Tornabuoni

AG Hotels announces the opening of its new five-star luxury hotel IL Tornabuoni in Florence, Italy.

Scheduled to open in Q3 2020, the hotel will be the first 5-star luxury hotel in Florence that the AG Hotels has. The group has also ten 4-star hotels in Rome.

Located along Florence’s Via Tornabuoni in the historic 12th century Palazzo Minerbetti, one of the city’s oldest palazzo residences, the five-star luxury IL Tornabuoni welcomes guests with 62 prestigious rooms and suites, set amidst four floors in the heart of the historical city center.

Many of IL Tornabuoni’s suites have been named after important Florentine female figures and this includes the Beatrice Suite, the muse of Florentine’s own Dante Alighieri and guide of his famous Divine Comedy. This plush suite, outfitted with double queen beds and decorated in golden yellow and warm grey, boasts almost 50 sqm of floor space. When connected to the Lorenzo Magnifico Suite, guests may enjoy an apartment comprised of 80 sqm, making it one of the most exclusive accommodations in all of Florence. Complete with a free-standing bathtub and shower, large widescreen TVs and a wine and champagne cellar, the Beatrice Suite overlooks IL Tornabuoni’s charming internal courtyard.

Milano architect Andrea Auletta has overseen the IL Tornabuoni’s interior design, as he has done for another of AG Group hotels in Rome. Each floor has been outfitted with a distinct regal color including vibrant teals, deep blues, sunny yellows, energetic vermillion and soft greys. Auletta, who holds a degree in Interior Design from the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED), has actively worked on interior and industrial design projects and was the main consultant for the overall design of Italian hotel group, Starhotels. Auletta currently manages a wide portfolio of projects, with a growing expertise not only in designing hotels, but also in designing offices, private homes and showrooms.
