Radisson RED Helsinki

Bold Design Meets Finnish Charm at Radisson RED Helsinki

Radisson Hotel Group unveiled its first Radisson RED property in Helsinki, introducing a vibrant new chapter in the city’s hospitality scene.

Nestled in the historic Kaisaniemi Park, Radisson RED Helsinki merges inspiring art, contemporary design, and relaxed service in the heart of Finland’s capital—known as the green capital of the world’s happiest country.

Designed by the renowned Finnish architecture firm Anttinen Oiva Arkkitehdit, the hotel’s modernist structure is a stone’s throw away from Helsinki’s architectural marvels like the Central Station and the Oodi central library. It’s also adjacent to the city’s oldest public park and the Kaisaniemi Botanic Garden, making it a prime location for both leisure and business travelers.

The hotel boasts 195 stylish rooms and suites across eight floors, with Radisson RED’s signature design-focused aesthetic. Guests staying in park side rooms are treated to stunning views of Kaisaniemi Park and the cityscape, while select upper-floor suites offer the luxury of bathrooms with panoramic vistas.

Art is at the forefront of the Radisson RED Helsinki experience. Upon entering the lobby, guests are welcomed by a striking three-meter red sculpture, reminiscent of the iconic “lantern carriers” at Helsinki Railway Station. Finnish artist Jenni Rope’s “Gust of Wind,” a 24-meter tall mobile, brings the essence of the park indoors, creating a seamless blend of nature and art.

The ground floor’s RED Bar and Kitchen invites guests and locals to enjoy casual dining and socializing, extending its hospitality from morning till late. With an outdoor summer terrace overlooking Kaisaniemi Park, the venue also serves as a cultural hotspot, hosting DJs and local artists, and is available for private events.

In anticipation of the grand opening party in January 2024, Radisson RED Helsinki is set to launch the RED Guide. This insider’s guide, created in collaboration with the City of Helsinki and local residents, will reveal the city’s authentic sights and unique experiences beyond the typical tourist paths, allowing guests to discover Helsinki’s hidden gems.

Tom Flanagan Karttunen, Area Senior VP for Northern and Western Europe at Radisson Hotel Group, expressed excitement about the new hotel, which joins the brand’s popular properties in Scandinavia. He emphasized the Radisson RED’s appeal in the Nordic region due to its blend of design, art, and relaxed ambiance.

General Manager Mika Virtanen takes pride in the hotel’s role in showcasing Helsinki’s rich design and urban culture. He assures that guests will receive the best insider tips to explore the city’s dynamic dining and nightlife.
