Deutsche Hospitality is set to continue its expansion into new markets by launching Zleep Hotels in the Czech Republic for the first time.
The new Zleep Hotel Prague is scheduled to open in 2024 as part of a mixed-use scheme comprising an international school, housing units, offices and a retail area. The hotel will be located in the Waltrovka development, a project by the Penta Group. The area will encompass a modern residential and commercial buildings and a park extending over an area of two hectares. The Zleep Hotel Prague will offer 166 rooms as well as accommodating a Scandinavian-styled lobby, reception and snack bar. Deutsche Hospitality has already announced initial Zleep Hotel projects for Spain and Germany, and this venture in Prague represents a further major step within the scope of the group’s global expansion strategy.
“This new location complements our portfolio perfectly,” said Thomas Willms, CEO, Deutsche Hospitality. “We are seeing considerable tourist demand in the Czech capital. The Zleep Hotel will provide a cost-effective option in a prime location for business and leisure travellers alike.” The hotel will feature the Nordic design that is typical of the brand. It will be situated in the South West of Prague in an area that offers convenient transportation links and public transport connections to the airport or the old quarter of the city.
“We are very much looking forward to establishing a first Eastern European presence for our economy brand in 2024,” added Robert Boller, Managing Director of Zleep Hotels GmbH. “With Penta Real Estate we have found an outstanding partner as we seek to implement the Zleep Hotels concept within the context of an exciting and future-oriented real estate project in the Czech Republic’s largest city.”
Penta Real Estate is part of the Penta Investments Group. David Musil, Residential and Hospitality Director at Penta Real Estate explained: “We are delighted to have secured such an innovative and dynamic brand as Zleep Hotels for the Waltrovka II project and are looking forward to entering into a long-term cooperation arrangement with Deutsche Hospitality, a renowned and international player in the hotel sector.”
Deutsche Hospitality’s acquisition of Zleep Hotels at the beginning of 2019 has enabled the group both to add an economy segment to its brand family and to expand its competitive position on an ongoing basis. The portfolio of the brand originally founded by Peter Haaber currently includes twelve hotels in Denmark and in Sweden. Further hotels are at the specific planning stage.
