Malta, an enchanting Mediterranean island known for its picturesque landscapes and vibrant culture, is set to welcome another world-class hotel.
Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H), a leading global hospitality company, has announced its plans to open the Hyatt Centric Malta in early 2024. The franchise agreement was signed with JUEL Hospitality Limited, part of the esteemed JUEL Group, to develop the 160-room property.
The Hyatt Centric Malta will be the second Hyatt-branded hotel in the country, joining the successful Hyatt Regency Malta located in the heart of St Julian’s, a bustling resort town along the island’s northeast coast. Renowned for its thriving nightlife and stunning beaches, St Julian’s has become a sought-after destination for travelers seeking both leisure and excitement.
The recognition of Malta as a desirable location for expansion reflects Hyatt’s commitment to growing its lifestyle and leisure portfolio. By strategically expanding the Hyatt Centric brand, the company aims to enhance the experience for members of its World of Hyatt loyalty program. The addition of the Hyatt Centric Malta will provide guests with an opportunity to explore yet another exciting destination while enjoying the brand’s distinctive offerings.
Briana Swift, Director of Development at Hyatt, expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming project, stating, “The Hyatt Centric brand is the go-to brand for today’s modern travelers looking to stay in the heart of the action, and we believe it will appeal to a variety of guests and locals alike who are seeking to explore this year-round leisure destination.”
The hotel’s prime location will offer guests convenient access to the bay’s pristine beaches and the vibrant entertainment options in the area. Moreover, being only a 20-minute drive from the capital city, Valletta, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Centre, visitors can easily immerse themselves in the rich historical and cultural offerings of the island.
In addition to its exceptional location, the Hyatt Centric Malta will feature a range of amenities that cater to the needs and preferences of modern travelers. On-site dining facilities will ensure guests have access to a variety of culinary experiences, while a rooftop terrace will provide panoramic views and serve up local fare. Those seeking relaxation can enjoy the indoor and outdoor pools, and fitness enthusiasts will have access to a well-equipped fitness center.
Recognizing the growing demand for versatile event spaces, the Hyatt Centric Malta will also boast over 4,300 square feet (400 square meters) of flexible meeting space. With two well-appointed rooms designed to accommodate various occasions, the hotel will provide an ideal venue for both corporate and social events.
Albert Galea, representative of JUEL Group, voiced their commitment to aligning the hotel with Malta’s tourism goals. He emphasized the importance of incorporating traditional Maltese elements into the property’s design to capture the distinctive spirit of the island and offer guests an authentic experience.
The Hyatt Centric Malta will join a prestigious lineup of Hyatt Centric properties across Europe, including Hyatt Centric The Liberties Dublin, Hyatt Centric Milan Centrale, Hyatt Centric Murano Venice, Hyatt Centric Gran Via Madrid, Hyatt Centric Levent Istanbul, and Hyatt Centric Cambridge. Each property in the brand portfolio is thoughtfully curated to reflect the local culture and provide a unique experience for guests.
With the addition of the Hyatt Centric Malta, Hyatt continues to demonstrate its commitment to expanding its presence in Europe and delivering exceptional hospitality experiences to travelers worldwide. As the hotel prepares to open its doors in early 2024, tourists and locals alike can look forward to a new destination that embodies the vibrant spirit of Malta while offering the comfort and luxury associated with the Hyatt brand.
