Hyatt Launches Unscripted by Hyatt, Expands Lifestyle and Luxury Brands

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has introduced a new brand, Unscripted by Hyatt, marking the latest addition to its growing Essentials portfolio. Designed for travelers who seek spontaneity and authentic local flavor, this upscale collection-style brand offers a flexible operating model for independent hotels and small portfolios looking to join the Hyatt system while retaining their individual character.

Unscripted by Hyatt is tailored to meet rising global demand for adaptive reuse and conversion-friendly options. Over 40 hotels are already in active discussions to join the brand. Each property will reflect its own unique identity while delivering the consistency and care associated with the Hyatt name. The brand offers access to the World of Hyatt loyalty program, which now includes over 56 million members worldwide.

A Flexible, Collection-Style Experience for Owners and Guests

The launch of Unscripted by Hyatt supports Hyatt’s ongoing evolution to grow across multiple brand portfolios and market segments. With a light-touch operating model and fewer brand standards, Unscripted enables property owners to maintain their design and service individuality while gaining the scale and reach of Hyatt’s global infrastructure.

Dan Hansen, Head of Americas Development at Hyatt, emphasized the value proposition: “The Unscripted by Hyatt brand gives owners a flexible path to join the Hyatt system while still delivering the high-quality, dependable experience guests expect from Hyatt.”

Key Benefits of Unscripted by Hyatt:

  • Flexible brand standards for adaptive reuse and conversions
  • Access to Hyatt’s global distribution and loyalty programs
  • Brand support with lower operational constraints
  • Opportunity for independent hotels to retain unique identity

The new brand is part of a broader strategy to deepen guest engagement and diversify offerings across five defined Hyatt brand portfolios: Essentials, Lifestyle, Luxury, Inclusive, and Independent.
